Like Resmio, we handle table reservations, guest management, waitlists, and no-show prevention. Where we differ is in contract terms and how much of the system you get for your money. Setup takes minutes, there’s no minimum commitment, and you don’t need a sales consultation to get started.

Where Resmio shines

Let’s be fair: Resmio does things we don’t. They’ve been serving German restaurants since 2011 and have built real brand recognition in a market that’s genuinely hard to enter. More than 10,000 restaurants use them, and that kind of local track record counts for something when you’re choosing a system you’ll rely on every service.

Their free BASIC plan is a permanent plan, not a trial that quietly expires. Their 30-day trial unlocks the top ULTIMATE tier with no credit card, so you can evaluate the expensive features before you pay for anything. That’s a genuinely generous way to let a restaurant make up its own mind.

Resmio also bundles things Resos simply doesn’t offer. Online food ordering, vouchers, and ticket sales all live inside the same system. If you want one vendor for reservations and takeaway and gift vouchers, Resmio covers ground we don’t. We’re a reservation system, and we’d rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise.

What makes Resos different

Both platforms manage reservations well. The difference shows up in what you sign and what you pay.

Resmio’s paid plans carry a 12-month minimum commitment, and rolling monthly billing costs an extra €10 per month on top of the plan price. Resos has no contract and no binding period. You can pause or cancel at any time, and switching to monthly billing doesn’t cost you a surcharge.

Then there’s how features are packaged. On Resmio’s PREMIUM plan at €69.90 per month, several things a busy restaurant treats as basic are sold as separate €19.90 add-ons: deposits, the graphical table plan, the manager app, the iPad app, marketing, and staff planning. Add three of those and you’re close to the €129.90 ULTIMATE price. Resos includes core booking features on every plan, from the free tier upward, so the number you see is close to the number you pay.

Pricing starts lower, too. Resos Basic is €45 per month, or €36 a month on annual billing, and there’s a free plan for up to 25 bookings a month to get started. No commission, no per-cover fees, on any plan.

When Resos might be the better fit

Resos tends to work well for restaurants that:

  • Don’t want to sign a 12-month commitment to get a table plan
  • Would rather not pay a surcharge for the privilege of monthly billing
  • Want deposits and floor-plan tools without stacking add-ons
  • Operate outside the DACH region, or serve guests in more than a handful of languages
  • Only need reservations, and already have ordering handled elsewhere

If you’re on PREMIUM and paying for two or three add-ons on top, it’s worth working out your real monthly total and comparing it with a plan that includes those features. Restaurants are often surprised by the gap.

Switching is easier than you think

Worried about losing your booking history and guest data? We’ve built an import tool that makes migrating from Resmio, or any other system, straightforward. You can bring over your existing reservations and guest information so you’re not starting from scratch. Your regulars stay in the system, their preferences intact, and your team keeps the context they need to deliver good service.

Most restaurants complete their migration in a single session. One thing worth checking before you move: if you’re inside a 12-month Resmio term, look at your renewal date, because that usually determines the cleanest moment to switch. Our support team is happy to help you plan the timing at no extra charge.

Try both and see what fits

The best way to decide between reservation systems is to run them yourself. Resos has a free plan with 25 bookings per month, so you can test the full system on real service before committing anything. Resmio’s 30-day ULTIMATE trial lets you do much the same on their side. Run both for a few weeks and see which one your team reaches for.

New restaurants currently get 50% off paid monthly plans for the first three months, so the cost of trying a paid tier is lower than the list price suggests.

Frequently asked questions about switching from Resmio

How does Resos compare to Resmio for managing reservations?

Both handle reservations, table management, waitlists, and guest communication. The main differences are contract terms and packaging. Resmio requires a 12-month minimum on paid plans and sells the table plan, deposits, and several apps as separate €19.90 add-ons on PREMIUM. Resos has no binding period and includes core booking features on every plan, from €45 per month with a free tier available.

Can I import my bookings and guest data from Resmio?

Yes. Our import tool brings over your existing reservations and guest information, so you keep your booking history and don’t have to rebuild your guest database by hand.

Does Resos charge commission or per-cover fees?

No. Resos never charges commission or per-cover fees on any plan. You pay a flat monthly subscription based on your booking volume, so a packed Saturday costs the same as a quiet Tuesday.

Am I locked into a contract with Resos?

No. There’s no binding period and no minimum term. You can pause or cancel at any time, and you won’t pay a surcharge to be billed monthly.

Does Resos offer online food ordering like Resmio?

No. Resos is a reservation and guest management system, not an ordering platform. If online ordering, vouchers, or ticket sales are central to how you operate, Resmio covers those in one system and we don’t. Many restaurants run a dedicated ordering tool alongside Resos instead.

Is Resos available in German?

Yes. Resos supports 17 languages, including German, across both the back office and the guest-facing booking flow, so your team and your guests each see the system in their own language.

How does pricing work?

Resos has a free plan for up to 25 bookings a month, Basic at €45 per month for 350 bookings, Plus at €85 for 750 bookings, and Unlimited at €125. Annual billing saves 20%, bringing Basic to €36 a month. New restaurants currently get 50% off monthly plans for the first three months. There are no per-cover fees and no commission. Some capabilities, such as SMS notifications and prepayments, are paid add-ons available on paid plans with a 30-day free trial.

Is Resos difficult to set up?

Most restaurants are up and running within an hour. You can add your floor plan, set your booking rules, and embed the booking widget on your website the same day. No sales calls and no lengthy onboarding required.

What about customer support?

We offer fast, free support to every restaurant regardless of plan. Support is included, not a premium tier, and our team takes the time to understand your setup rather than pointing you at documentation.

Does Resos integrate with Google?

Yes. Resos works with Reserve with Google, so guests can book directly from Google Search and Google Maps. We also support bookings from Facebook and Instagram.
