Which email address does what in Resos
In this article
This assumes you already know how to choose whether you get booking notifications by email or SMS, see how to choose your preferred way of receiving booking notifications first.
Resos uses three different addresses, and they live in three different places. Changing one does not change the others, which is why an old address can keep showing up after you think you have replaced it everywhere.
The email guests see and reply to
This is your restaurant’s contact email. It appears on your booking page and in the footer of your booking widget, and it is set as the reply address on the confirmations, reminders, and other emails Resos sends to your guests. Those emails go out from a Resos sending address under your restaurant’s name, so anything a guest replies to lands on this address.
Change it in Menu → Settings & add-ons → Account → Name & contact → Contact → E-mail. The field is mandatory, so you cannot leave it empty to hide it from guests; you can only replace it with another address.
If a personal address is still reaching guests after you have changed this field, that address is being read from somewhere else. Check your own website, your Google Business Profile, and your Stripe account (see below) before assuming it is coming from Resos.
The email that receives new bookings
This is the notification recipient, and it is a different setting from the contact email above. Set it in Menu → Settings & add-ons → Communication → Notifications → To you, as described in how to choose your preferred way of receiving booking notifications. Guests never see this address, and you can list several of them. If you have never set one, new-booking emails go to the contact email above instead, which is why booking mail can keep landing on an address you never entered here.
Where to find your invoices
Resos does not send invoices by email. You can find them in your account under Menu → Settings & add-ons → Account → Billing, in the Invoices list. Click the receipt icon on an invoice line, tooltip Show invoice & receipt, and that invoice opens on its own page in a new tab, where you can download the PDF. An invoice that is still unpaid shows a Show & pay invoice button instead. Older invoices are in the same list and open the same way. The Billing page is only available to users with owner or admin rights, so if you cannot see it, ask the account owner to update your user.
If your accounts department needs the invoices, the practical options are to give them a user with the right access, or to forward the downloaded PDF.
The email on prepayment and no-show receipts
If you take prepayments or no-show fees, the receipt Stripe sends your guest carries the support email on your own Stripe account, not the one in Resos. Resos fills that in from your Name & contact email when the Stripe connection is first created, and does not overwrite it afterwards. So if you change your email in Resos later, those receipts keep showing the old one. If your restaurant had no name or email filled in yet when Stripe was connected, no support email was set at all, and Stripe uses the account owner’s own login address instead.
To fix it, open your Stripe dashboard and change the public business support email in your Stripe account settings. Resos cannot change it for you.
